This is the first local brewing company which takes advantage of the recently approved permit by the Mexicali City Council, which allows the sale of craft beer at the same place where is made.
There are a little over 20 local brewers in Mexicali, all making good quality beer and different styles.
Héctor Corella said that Amante Tap Room will sell all the different local brands, in order to support the local brewers and get people to know the beers made in Mexicali and spread the word.
“This is a chance we shouldn’t miss, which at the same time, will generate resources and motivate local brewers to work harder to improve their products every day; in addition, this creates a healthy competition,” said Hector Corella.
For about a year, the local brewers have tried to introduce their products at local bars and restaurants, but the law doesn’t allow it, reason why they had the necessity to open these kind of new spaces, such Amante Tap Room.
In Mexicali, the best beer in Mexico is currently being produced, competing with San Diego, Los Angeles, and putting aside the traditional canned beer. No longer is Chinese Food, or Carne Asada, now Craft Beer is the City that captured the sun’s tourist attraction.
