Property Tax Bills Released to Imperial County property owners

Imperial County Treasurer-Tax Collector, Karen Vogel, announces that the annual Property Tax bills have been released and mailed to property owners.  However, residents should be advised that the department has experienced a higher rate than normal of bills returned due to inaccurate mailing addresses on file this year.

Deadline for payment of the 1st installment of property tax is scheduled on Monday, December 10, 2018.  Payment must be made to the Tax Collectors Office by 5:00 p.m. or bear a postmark of December 10, 2018.  In addition, property owners may make payments online at http://www.co.imperial.ca.us/TaxCollectorTreasurer before 11:45 p.m. on December 10, 2018 to remain current.  Delinquent parcels will receive a 10% penalty and a $10.00 fee effective December 11, 2018.

Property owners who have paid their taxes through impound accounts, but have recently refinanced or paid off their home loans should be aware that they may now be responsible for paying the property tax bills themselves.

If you are a property owner and have not yet received your tax bill, or you have questions about your property taxes, you are advised to contact the Imperial County Tax Collector’s Office at (442) 265-1270 or visit their office located at 940 West Main Street, Suite 106 in El Centro.
