By: Mario Conde

The lights, sounds and the stage were set for the auditions for the Calexico Rotary Club 1st Annual Talent Show as artists from all ages prepare to give their best performance.

The lobby of the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center was packed as participants fine-tuned every detail of their performance one last time before going into auditions to qualify for the big show.

From music bands to solo singers, to dancers, every participant shared their talent and efforts they have practiced and invested for many years to reach excellence. On the other side, there were three judges that were fair and impartial when evaluated the talent that will participate at the main show. Judges Ruben Moreno, Robert Peña and Anna Monniger combined their years of experience in music and performing arts to choose the best performers that will put the best show during the Calexico Rotary Club Talent Show.

The first annual talent show will take place on October 20 at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center located at 421 Heffernan Avenue in Calexico, California. Proceeds for this talent show will go for future projects the club will conduct for Calexico. First Place will win $300; Second Place $200; and Third Place $100.
