VERONA, Italy – Baja California fencer Natalia Botello will participate in the Youth World Championship and Cadet to the city of Verona, Italy in search of endorsing the crown she won last year in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
In the same way she attends this competition in search of her ticket to the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018, where she’s considered one of the favorites to reach the podium.
Natalia Botello is currently a world youth category champion achieving her title at 14 years old and she’s Pan American champion for the second consecutive year at the individual level and team, in addition to having won the bronze medal in the category Cadets in that same world championship and the bronze medal for youth teams.
She was awarded the National Sports Award 2017 in the non-professional sports category, in addition to the State Award in Baja California and named the best athlete in the Americas by the International Association of Sports Journalists of America.
Botello comes to the World Cup as the second in the world ranking and with several gold medals in the world cups as in Algeria, Costa Rica 2017 and 2108, Pan American Games in Cuba 2017 and Costa Rica 2018.
