Mexicali Journalists Association meet with FAPERMEX members

The Mexicali Journalists Association received members of the FAPERMEX (Federation of Mexican Journalist Associations) yesterday evening, who arrived in the capital of Baja California to hold its XVII National Congress and V assembly of CONALIPE (National College of Graduates in Journalism, summoning more than 60 journalists associated with the guild from different states of the Mexican Republic, which is chaired by Colila Eguía. The gathered group enjoyed an icebreaker night that kicks off the activities they will carry out in the city and support the new board of directors of the association, headed by Arturo Galván Álvarez, who will also be celebrating on Saturday December 6 to deliver the National Journalism Award “Ricardo Flores Magón”.

The new board of the APM, is now composed of Exaltación González, as vice president, Mauro Quintero as Social Communication Director, and Mitzi Monge as Treasurer, who welcomed the journalists who came to share this camaraderie as a first step for the objectives of union and representation that seeks to strengthen the association.

On the other hand, Laura Tejeda, Commissioner of Mexicali Women Communicators, together with César Valdez, representative of Mexicali Graphic Reporters, detailed the importance of carrying out this type of events on a frequent basis, in order to strengthen ties within the community of journalists, and seeking to create a strong image of unity and leadership.

For its part, the president of Fapermex, Colila Eguía thanked the attendance of the collaborators, especially those who came from other states in Mexico to witness this celebration. Likewise, she delivered awards to different journalists for decades of work, in honor of their efforts and dedication to this profession.

The new delegation of the Mexicali association indicated that in January, next year, the members will be summoned again, to present in detail the plans and projects that are contemplated for the incoming year, 2020.
