To commemorate its half-century of existence, Index Mexicali announced a series of events that will mark this year’s calendar. The organization, a leader in promoting the development of the manufacturing industry in Mexicali, organized a press conference to present its plans, led by its President, Salvador Maese.
The President of Index Mexicali led the presentation, highlighting the organization’s continued commitment to the economic growth and sustainable development of Mexicali. Maese expressed his gratitude to all the members, partners, and collaborators who have been a fundamental part of the history of Index Mexicali, and noted that these commemorative events are a way to celebrate together the achievements made and look to the future with optimism and determination.
“This is about creating a strong business community in Mexicali. Index represents the most important economic sector but we must work with other chambers to make Mexicali a better place to live,” said Maese.
The President of Index spoke about nearshoring, which he defined as “friend-shoring” since it benefits the local economy and local companies.
“We are with the most important consumer country in the world and now with the relationship we have with the free trade agreement, that we are going to review in 2026, we can become a global mega economy,” he said.
Among the announced events are business summits, sports competitions, and cultural and social activities, designed to involve the entire community.
The diversity of activities reflects Index Mexicali’s commitment to promoting the comprehensive growth of the region, both in the business and social and cultural fields. In addition to highlighting Index Mexicali’s past and present achievements, these events aim to inspire future generations of business leaders and strengthen ties between industry, government, and civil society.
The INDEX MEXICALI 2024 Padel tournament will take place from Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5 at the Palestra Club Deportivo. The champions will be awarded Adidas shovels, while the runners-up will receive Adidas backpacks.
The registration cost is 1,000 pesos per person, excluding VAT, and includes two insured games and sponsor raffles. The registration deadline is until April 22, 2024. Those interested can register by completing the online form and contacting the organizer via WhatsApp to complete the registration process.
