Cultural Revolution to Begin at La Chinesca in Mexicali

-Editorial

A revolution is needed to promote and preserve the history and legacy of “La Chinesca” and that is what will happen very soon.

At the press conference held Feb. 4, Ruben Chen, a local entrepreneur and promoter of Chinese culture in Mexicali, wants to bring together artists from all disciplines and cultural promoters who need a venue to present or promote art and culture in the area of downtown area known as “La Chinesca”.

“The goal this year to promote their projects and take advantage of the great potential we have for art and culture. All of our venues are “alternative” and we can make adaptations for presentations,” said Ruben Chen, organizer of this event and who also coordinates tours at “La Chinesca”

Mexicali has a rich history with the Chinese community and they were part of the founding of the city more than 100 years ago.

Theater, dance, plastic arts, musicians, literature, photography, muralists and other disciplines are invited to exhibit and present their art and thus attract people from the United States and Mexico in the area.

Registration opened on February 5 and closes on March 31.
