THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMY ANNOUNCED THE “BUY IN BAJA” PROGRAM

TIJUANA, B.C.- With the aim of reactivating the economic activity in Baja California, and to support producers and entrepreneurs, the Secretary of Sustainable Economy and Tourism (SEST), announced the program “Buy in La Baja”, which consists of linking micro and small companies from Baja California with large commercial chains.

 “It is a great challenge for us and for the State Government to be able to carry out these alliances that we are making today with Smart & Final, and we will soon announce Oxxo, Calimax, Bodega Aurrera, Walmart and Soriana,” said the secretary of SEST, Mario Escobedo Carignan.

The SEST will be the manager with the different commercial chains for their insertion into the massive commercial market, as well as serving as business coaching, trainer, and credit facilitator.

In this same sense, Escobedo Carignan said that it is a great opportunity to take advantage of the current situation to help our entrepreneurs grow and to show them that opportunities do exist and that they must be taken advantage of.

So far, there are 1,489 entrepreneurs in the SEST database, in addition to all those who are joining the list, who will have the opportunity to participate in this program that will be active throughout the State, so all entrepreneurs and producers MSMEs will have the same growth opportunities.

The head of the SEST indicated that the bridge loans have the objective of supporting entrepreneurs, increasing their cash flow, by reducing the collection periods of their invoices, so that they continue with the production of their products; The product consists of credits of 30 to 90 days with an annual interest of 8% (It would be less than 1% of interest), in addition to easy access with invoices and a contract with a supermarket chain.

Likewise, he announced that the training is focused on compliance with the regulations in force in the country, which entails obtaining a barcode, nutritional table, redesign of commercial image for packaging, planning, and commercial strategy for MSMEs, as well as a trademark registration.

Once the products enter the Smart & Final shelves, the producers will compete with the world, it is a great opportunity and a great challenge where our commitment is to offer them all the necessary tools for their growth.

To conclude, he stated that part of the requirements is: having a tax ID number, proof of address, copy of INE, proof of a bank account (cover statement), among others.
