-Editorial

Imperial Irrigation District is pleased to announce the 2022 launch of its popular Residential Weatherization Program, an opportunity for customers to receive no-cost services that can help them save energy and money.

Starting Monday, March 14, 2022, participating IID electric customers can receive up to $1,000 in energy-saving services and equipment that can help reduce heating and cooling costs while boosting their home’s comfort level.

“We are happy to offer one of our most popular programs that can help customers save energy and remain cool during our hot summers,” said IID Board President Jim Hanks. “We expect a great deal of interest and participation.”

Customers currently enrolled in IID’s income-qualified Residential Energy Assistance Program (REAP) can also receive an additional $500 in installed products and services through the weatherization program.

The no-cost services may include:

  • Smart programmable thermostat
  • Air conditioner tune-up
  • High-efficiency air conditioning motor
  • Duct leak sealing
  • Efficient fan control
  • Ceiling fan
  • Smart power strip
  • LED lighting

IID has partnered with Synergy Companies to perform an energy assessment for each participating home. As a certified IID contractor, Synergy will identify energy-saving opportunities and provide qualifying energy efficiency services.

The program is open to all IID residential customers, including single-family, multi-family, manufactured homeowners, and renters. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis until 2022 program funding is exhausted.

To participate, please visit www.synergycompanies.com and select “Request Appointment” or call Synergy at 1-800-818-4298. More information on the weatherization program is also available at www.iid.com/weatherization.

Synergy, California’s leading residential energy efficiency contractor, has been serving the Coachella and Imperial Valleys for over a decade providing similar programs for SoCalGas and looks forward to working with IID customers.
