With more than 1,247 security agents who will be deployed in the seven municipalities of the state during the Easter holiday period, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, introduced the Information, Assistance, and Security Operation initiative for tourists, which will take place from March 24 to 31.
Additionally, assistance will be offered to visitors through line 078, where free advice will be given and all reports of various situations related to tourists will be attended to.
In addition, Governor Marina del Pilar expressed that after negotiations with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), it was agreed that starting this Friday, March 22, the La Rumorosa-El Hongo section of the toll road will be reopened at no cost at the booth for motorists.
It should be noted that the Easter operation will include 336 mobile units that will be monitoring the Baja California territory by sea, land, and air. These efforts are added to the tourism sector to improve the experience in Baja California.
The Governor thanked the Ángeles Verdes organization, as well as the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico and its head, Miguel Torruco Marqués, for their permanent support for the tourism development of Baja California, which in turn has strengthened the chain of the value of the sector to be more professional and improve the experience of visiting the state.
For his part, the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, reported that the “Explore Baja California” campaign has been undertaken, along with the selection of tourist service providers certified by the National Tourism Registry, to guarantee the quality of the services offered to visitors.
Aguíñiga Rodríguez shared the different attractions and events that will be held in the seven municipalities, with activities for all tastes, such as the San Felipe 250 off-road race, the “La Empolvada” bicycle ride in Tecate, and the traditional “Visit to the 7 Temples” in Mexicali.
In addition to concerts and promotions in Playas de Rosarito, cultural activities in Tijuana, the arrival of tourist cruises, and tours on the Wine Route in Ensenada, among many other activities.
Finally, the secretary added that an increase of at least three percentage points is expected compared to the same period in 2023, especially in San Felipe, Ensenada, and Playas de Rosarito, as well as a hotel occupancy of 69.7 percent throughout the state.
The agencies participating in the operation are, at the federal level, SEDENA, SEMAR, PROFECO, CAPUFE, National Guard, Ángeles Verdes, and CONANP; while at the state level, the ministries of Tourism, Citizen Security, Environment, Health and the General Secretariat of Government participate; as well as various municipal agencies of Security, Firefighters, Lifeguards, Tourism, Civil Protection, among others.
