Chiu Gallery To Promote the Best Artists of Baja California

Enrique Chiu has always been an artist willing to help local artists and a new project he recently launched will give new spaces of expression to the region’s talent.

The signing of the agreement and inauguration of the new Chiu Gallery-CANACO took place in the main hall of the National Chamber of Commerce of Tijuana.

This agreement between the Chamber and Enrique Chiu aims to create a new space for the exhibition and sale of work, with emerging and recognized artists from the border area, as well as create a cultural movement and open more spaces at the national level, to contribute to economic development and culture among the participating organizations.

And with the first exhibition “Travesías y Anecdotas” it will be the first collaboration between the Canaco Tijuana and the Chiu Gallery.

Between guests of the chamber and the public, the celebration was done with the presence of the president of Canaco Julian Palombo, and members of the Council for the ribbon cutting and being a new space that will allow a new art exhibition every two months.

Enrique Chiu is the creator of the Brotherhood Mural on the border wall between the United States and Mexico and is the largest social and cultural movement in northern Mexico. This plastered art has inspired people from all over the world to come to raise hope and support for the migrant community. Led by the Mexican muralist, around 4,000 artists from all over the world have come to the beaches of Tijuana to contribute his work. He has been a muralist for 22 years and worked closely with immigrants throughout his career.

He is the only artist with permission from the US government to paint on the border wall between Mexico and the United States.

He is Doctor Honoris Causa, with degrees in Marketing and Design and Audiovisual Arts from the universities of Long Beach and Santa Ana, California. His pictorial work has been exhibited in galleries in Mexico, and the United States. Europe, the Middle East, and South America. His work is permanently exhibited in museums in the United States, Spain, Germany, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Recognized by the JCI (Junior Chamber International) among the 10 most outstanding young people in the world TOYP 2019 in Estonia. Tijuana Walk of Fame Artist.
