The Mexican Consulate in Calexico and Ventanilla de Salud organized a health fair that motivated people to check their health.
Through its Ventanilla De Salud, the “Love Your Heart” campaign reaches people so they can measure blood pressure, have diabetes, mammograms, and other tests.
This is a preventive campaign to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases, which is the leading cause of death in the United States and Mexico.
Consul General Tarcisio Navarrete Montes de Oca thanked all health agencies for joining and supporting the Ventanilla de Salud.
Imperial County has one of the highest rates of obesity, not only within the state of California but throughout the United States.
“For this reason, it is extremely important to pay attention to our diet, do daily exercise and continually check our pressure. This way we keep our hearts healthy,” said Consul Navarrete.
