IID to launch new opportunities to save on power bills

EnergyFlex and IID Power Store will give customers more choices, savings, and flexibility—just in time for summer

The Imperial Irrigation District is excited to announce two new opportunities that can help customers lower their summer electric bills.

EnergyFlex

Expected to launch in mid-April, the EnergyFlex program will provide customers with the option to voluntarily enroll their smart thermostats in an automatic demand response (ADR) program where small changes can be made to shift energy use during summer heat waves (FlexHours), helping customers save money, remain comfortable, and reduce IID’s exposure to unpredictable fuel costs.

The EnergyFlex program offers benefits to all IID customers. Customers with a smart thermostat can enroll in the program’s automatic feature and receive incentives for participating. Those without a smart thermostat, or who prefer not to use the automatic option, can also become EnergyFlex participants and earn incentives by voluntarily reducing energy use during peak events.

IID Power Store

The new IID Power Store, expected to launch in late April, is an online marketplace featuring energy-efficient products.

The Power Store will provide customers with a convenient way to receive instant point-of-sale rebates on energy-saving products, including smart thermostats, room air conditioners, and refrigerators.

Available at www.iid.com, the IID Power Store will offer discounted energy-efficient products, instant rebates applied at checkout for some items, educational home energy resources, and information about IID programs and services.

Additionally, customers who purchase a smart thermostat from the IID Power Store can simultaneously enroll in the voluntary EnergyFlex program, which pays participants.

IID is proud to continue its commitment to promoting energy efficiency, giving customers more ways to save energy, cutting costs, and helping them stay in control—while working together to strengthen the reliability of our region’s electric system.
