YouTube and the National Football League announced Wednesday that Grammy Award-winning global recording artist KAROL G will headline the halftime show at the 2025 NFL São Paulo Game on Sept. 5. The game, which will feature the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs against the Los Angeles Chargers, will be played at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, and will stream free to fans worldwide on YouTube. This marks the first time the platform will exclusively broadcast a live NFL game.
Coverage will begin with YouTube’s pre-game show at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. BRT, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. BRT. In addition to the halftime performance, the NFL will showcase the music and culture of Latin America throughout the game. Brazilian country star Ana Castela will sing the Brazilian national anthem, while Grammy- and Emmy-nominated American composer and jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington will perform the U.S. national anthem.
KAROL G, a member of YouTube’s “Billion-View Club,” has built an international career with nearly 30 billion views on her channel. Her latest album, Tropicoqueta, has earned over one billion streams across platforms and set records on Billboard’s Latin charts. Known for her high-energy performances and global appeal, KAROL G said she was honored to bring her music to this international NFL stage.
Angela Courtin, YouTube’s vice president of Connected TV and Creative Studio Marketing, said the collaboration represents a convergence of sports, music, and digital creators. NFL Senior Director of Global Game Presentation and Entertainment Tim Tubito added that the São Paulo event was designed to connect with the league’s growing fan base in Brazil while honoring Latin American music.
The game is part of an ongoing partnership between the NFL and YouTube, now in its third season with NFL Sunday Ticket on the platform. In 2024, audiences watched more than 350 million hours of official NFL content on YouTube. Organizers said additional talent announcements, including appearances by popular YouTube creators, will be made later this month.
