The Baja California Secretary of Tourism and Uber have renewed a partnership aimed at expanding transportation options and promoting responsible travel during the 2026 Harvest Festival, one of the state’s largest annual tourism events.
The collaboration is intended to encourage residents and visitors to use transportation alternatives when traveling to and from festival activities in the Guadalupe Valley, a region recognized as the center of Mexico’s wine industry.
Baja California Tourism Secretary Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño said the agreement is designed to provide attendees with additional mobility options while supporting a safe and convenient experience throughout the monthlong celebration.
“The Harvest Festival showcases the quality of our wines, gastronomy and the hospitality of Baja California,” Badiola said in a statement. “With this partnership, we want those participating in the celebration to have a transportation alternative that allows them to enjoy each experience with greater confidence and responsibility.”
The 36th edition of the Harvest Festival is scheduled to take place from Aug. 5 through Aug. 30 and is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the Guadalupe Valley. The annual festival celebrates Baja California’s wine industry through a series of public and private events hosted by wineries and tourism organizations.
Festival activities include the traditional Wine Festival, the annual Paella Contest, wine tastings, food and wine pairing dinners, culinary events and concerts. The celebration attracts visitors from across Mexico and abroad and is considered one of the state’s signature tourism events.
The partnership with Uber is intended to increase transportation availability for both residents and domestic and international visitors attending events throughout the valley.
Uber Mexico General Manager Félix Olmo said the company will provide transportation services and technology to help attendees travel between wineries, event venues and other destinations during the festival.
“We’re excited to continue serving as the platform that connects people with one of the region’s most important traditions. Our priority during the 2026 Harvest Festival is to provide a first-class mobility experience. We want transportation to be one less concern for attendees, so we’re putting our technology to work for Baja California to support local economic development, help improve traffic flow, and ensure every trip home is comfortable and reliable.”
Users can schedule rides in advance through the company’s “Reserve a Ride” feature, which allows trips to be booked from 30 days to as little as 30 minutes before pickup. The company said the option is intended to help travelers coordinate transportation to and from festival events, particularly during periods of high demand.
The collaboration is part of broader efforts to improve the visitor experience while encouraging responsible transportation during one of the busiest tourism seasons of the year in the Guadalupe Valley.
The Baja California Ministry of Tourism also encouraged visitors to explore the region’s wineries, restaurants and outdoor attractions during the festival.
