The Secretariat of Economy and Innovation of Baja California announced that preparations are complete for Baja Innovation Day 2025, an international event that will take place on Oct. 30 at the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT). The initiative seeks to connect Baja California’s innovation ecosystem with global technology and investment networks.
The event, organized by the state government through the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, will bring together representatives from companies, academia, startups, investors, and technology leaders. The goal is to create a platform for collaboration that strengthens the state’s capacity for technological development and positions Baja California as a national leader in creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Secretary of Economy and Innovation Kurt Honold Morales said that CECUT will be transformed into a “center of experiences and knowledge,” offering an agenda of conferences, discussion forums, technology exhibitions, digital workshops, and a Business Center aimed at generating new partnerships between the public and private sectors.
“Baja California reaffirms its position as a hub of innovation that connects talent, investment, and knowledge,” Honold Morales said. “Everything is ready to show the world the creative and technological potential of our state, as promoted by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda.”
The program will include high-profile speakers from Mexico and abroad. Among them are Íñigo Fernández Baptista, Director of Public Policy for Meta in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, who will deliver a presentation titled Building the Digital Future: AI, Extended Reality and Connectivity; Guadalupe Itzi-Guari Hurtado Bañuelos, Deputy Director of Support Services at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, who will address Intellectual Property in the Digital Era; Francisco Medina Montaño, representing Bosch Mexico, with Innovation for Life; Joaquín Amaro of Siemens, who will speak about AI and the Metaverse in Industrial Innovation; and Manuel O’Brien of IBM Mexico, with a keynote on Artificial Intelligence as a Strategic Partner.
A key discussion panel titled Value Chains and Strategic Industries will feature representatives from Skyworks, Honeywell, and Medtronic. The panel will explore how these companies are integrating production and technology sectors across North America to strengthen regional competitiveness.
In the Foro Innova space, participants will engage in sessions focused on sustainability, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship. Speakers include Gabriel Palombo, Director of the Baja California Digital Agency; Miguel Primo Armendáriz of the International Youth Foundation; Aldo Díaz Nuño from the Council of Photovoltaic Energy Professionals; Félix Steinberg from Climate Tech CATAL1.5ºT; and Adriana Tortajada of 1200 VC, who will discuss innovation and smart investment.
The event will feature six thematic areas designed to immerse participants in different aspects of technology and innovation. The Digital Space will offer practical workshops on artificial intelligence and automation. The Master Hall will host keynote presentations from global experts. Foro Innova will focus on sustainability, energy, and innovation topics, while the Immersive Expo will bring together companies and research centers showcasing cutting-edge technologies. The AI Experience will offer interactive demonstrations illustrating the impact of technology on everyday life, including an IMAX presentation. Finally, the Business Center will facilitate business-to-business meetings, promote local supply chains, and connect entrepreneurs with potential investors.
