The Fiestas del Sol 2025 will officially open on Sept. 26, once again transforming the Centro de Ferias, Eventos y Exposiciones (FEX) into the stage for one of northwestern Mexico’s largest cultural and entertainment events. The fair, which will run from Sept. 26 through Oct. 12, has become a hallmark of the city, drawing thousands of families and visitors each year with its mix of music, food, traditions, and commercial exhibitions.
Organizers announced that this year’s edition will feature significant changes and expansions, including new pavilions, updated entertainment areas, and modernized services such as online ticketing, fast pass options, carnet packages, and valet parking. These improvements, they said, are intended to enhance the visitor experience and increase attendance.
Among the main innovations is the introduction of the Templo Mayor stage, designed to highlight alternative music, themed nights, and emerging artists. Performances scheduled for this venue include Little Jesus, Clubz, Simpsom Ahuevo, La Adixion, and Pikadientes de Caborca with Madafakers. According to officials, the goal of this stage is to diversify the fair’s cultural and musical offerings and appeal to audiences seeking fresh and innovative performances.
The Pabellón Carne y Fuego will also debut as a new attraction, bringing together the growing grilling community in Mexicali. Over the course of the 17-day fair, 16 grill masters will compete in live cooking events, accompanied by craft beer tastings and barbecue shows.
The Isla de las Estrellas will continue as a major highlight, offering concerts included in the price of general admission. Acts announced for this stage include Bronco, Grupo Selectivo, El Malilla, Los Terrícolas, Miel San Marcos, Lasso, Porter, Insite, Molotov, Víctor Mendívil, Jesse & Joy, Aterciopelados, Su Majestad La Brissa, Grupo Clasificado, Mi Banda El Mexicano, and Santa Fe Klan, who will close the festival on Oct. 12. A popular community event, the collective weddings, will take place Oct. 6, with Grupo Candela providing entertainment for the ceremony.
At the Palenque del FEX, regional Mexican music will once again dominate the schedule, featuring prominent performers such as Luis R. Conríquez, Edición Especial, El Coyote and Chuy Lizárraga, Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen, Edén Muñoz, Grupo Firme, Christian Nodal, Carín León, and La Parranda Tour for the closing night.
The fair’s traditional Cabalgata was held Sept. 20 as a prelude to the celebrations. More than 200 riders paraded from the Nido de los Águilas stadium parking lot to the FEX grounds, concluding with a show featuring dancing horses, a long-standing tradition that signals the arrival of the annual festivities.
As in previous years, the fair will include art exhibitions, commercial booths, cultural showcases, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. Organizers said admission will remain accessible, with general tickets priced at 60 pesos for adults 12 and older, while children under 12, senior citizens, and people with disabilities may enter free of charge.
Officials emphasized that the Fiestas del Sol 2025 will be among the most ambitious editions to date in terms of variety and scale. They said the event remains a vital meeting point for culture, entertainment, and local commerce, strengthening Mexicali’s identity as a hub for regional traditions and international performances.
