Simplify Your Border Crossing: How to Obtain Your Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) for Mexico

-Editorial

The Baja California Secretariat of Tourism is reminding foreign visitors about the U.S.-Mexico border crossing process to streamline their entry into the country.

Foreign travelers entering Mexico under the immigration status of a visitor without permission to engage in paid activities must complete a pre-registration process to electronically obtain the Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM).

When arriving at the Mexican immigration window, travelers must present their valid passport, the printed Forma Migratoria Múltiple, and the online payment receipt.

To facilitate access, the following steps are recommended for registering the Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM). First, visit the National Institute of Migration (INM) portal at https://www.inm.gob.mx/spublic/portal/inmex.html to complete your pre-registration. Enter your details exactly as they appear on the documentation used for entry into Mexican territory. Then, click the “Download FMMD” icon to obtain the Forma Migratoria Múltiple Digital (FMMD) in PDF format.

Next, access the payment link for the Forma Migratoria Múltiple and select the FMM type to begin the process. Enter the FMM number, CAPTCHA code, and click “Search FMM” before completing the payment. Once processed, return to the INM portal to print the payment receipt, which will be displayed on the screen.

The Baja California Secretariat of Tourism encourages visitors to complete this process in advance to ensure a smoother entry into Mexico. For more travel information, visit Baja California Travel.
