On Saturday, October 5, the Tijuana Country Club was transformed for the first time into a hub of wine and culinary culture in Baja California with the celebration of the third edition of the Wine Without Borders Festival organized by the Provino Committee. The event brought together over 40 wineries from Baja California’s wine valleys and 25 regional restaurants from Tijuana, Ensenada, Valle de Guadalupe, Rosarito, and Tecate, offering attendees a unique experience.
Starting at 3:00 PM, guests were welcomed with a commemorative glass to enjoy over 100 wine labels available at the event, featuring white, rosé, and red varieties. These wines were perfectly complemented by the culinary samples from participating establishments, showcasing a range of sweet and savory options through a partnership with the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Spiced Foods (CANIRAC) of Tijuana. Additionally, the festival included an educational program with cooking demonstrations, thanks to support from Institutional Kitchens and La Canasta Distributor, where four regional chefs prepared culinary dishes in 45- to 60-minute sessions, allowing attendees to interact and taste the dishes paired with Baja California wines, utilizing various Riedel glassware.
Reinforcing the festival’s spirit of creating a bridge connecting both sides of the northern border through winemaking and strengthening ties with other producing regions, Temecula, CA, was invited as the Wine Region. This enriched the wine offerings with participation from wineries such as South Coast Winery, Akash Winery, and Falkner Winery, along with representation from Wines of California. The atmosphere was filled with music from the beginning until 10:00 PM, with local talent DJ Wintone and Grupo Melody getting everyone dancing with contemporary sounds, Latin rhythms, and current hits.
The 3rd Wine Without Borders Festival emerged as an important promotional platform for wine tourism, attracting both local audiences and visitors from the regional and Southern California areas, where wine enthusiasts had the opportunity to enjoy a memorable wine and culinary experience in Tijuana’s ideal atmosphere.
