Imperial Irrigation District customers will receive an additional 4-cent-per-kilowatt-hour credit for September energy usage, which will be automatically reflected on October electric bills.

The credit comes as IID continues to realize savings in fuel and purchased power costs, allowing the District to return those savings directly to customers.

“As a community-owned public utility, IID believes our customers should benefit directly when energy costs come in lower than anticipated,” said IID Board Chairwoman Karin Eugenio. “Returning those savings through this credit is another way we can provide value to the communities we serve.”

Customers do not need to take any action to receive the credit. It will automatically be applied to September energy usage and reflected on October electric bills.

The amount of the credit will vary based on each customer’s September energy usage. Customers enrolled in IID’s Shift & Save Time-of-Use program will also receive the same 4-cent-per-kilowatt-hour credit.

The credit reflects IID’s continuing commitment to responsibly managing energy costs, maintaining reliable public power, and passing savings back to customers when lower energy costs make those savings available.

Customers looking for additional ways to manage their monthly electric bills can learn more about IID programs including Shift & Save, EnergyFlex, Budget Billing,  IID’s Power Store, and income-qualified assistance programs such as READY, SHIELD, and EASE at www.iid.com.
