United Toyota Imperial in Imperial recently provided financial support to a local youth soccer program after a coach reached out to the dealership seeking assistance for approximately 60 players who needed uniforms and equipment.
According to Jorge Clue, general manager of United Toyota, the request came directly from the team’s coach. The dealership responded by providing a donation to help cover the costs of uniforms and soccer equipment for the players.
Clue said the effort has since developed into an ongoing relationship between the dealership and the youth program. As part of that connection, United Toyota employees will participate in a friendly soccer match against members of the team on May 29th at 7 PM at Heber Elementary School.
“It is an honor to be in a position to help these young men,” Clue said in a statement. “Helping the community is what being UNITED is all about.”
Coach Pasqual Gonzalez has been deeply involved in amateur soccer in the region for many years, building a legacy that began in Calexico and expanded through consistent service to youth development programs. He previously served as an assistant coach at Calexico High School, where he helped shape student-athletes both on and off the field.
Beyond the high school level, he has coached multiple generations of youth leagues, becoming a steady presence in the local soccer community. His long-term commitment reflects more than coaching ability; it represents a sustained investment in young people and the growth of the sport. For many in the community, Gonzalez is viewed as an institution, someone who understands the game and, more importantly, cares deeply about the youth he continues to mentor.
The dealership has continued to participate in community-oriented activities throughout Imperial County, including support for local youth and recreational programs.
