Save Money on Your Bill with IID’s Residential Energy Assistance Program!

With the Imperial Irrigation District’s Residential Energy Assistance Program (REAP), eligible customers can lower their power bills with ease.  This program provides income-qualifying customers with a 20 percent discount on their monthly power bill. Additionally, if you’re 60 or older, you can enjoy an even bigger 30 percent REAP discount. Participants in this age group will need to reapply for REAP every three years, while all other participants must reapply annually.

But that’s not all! As a REAP participant, you’ll also automatically receive an extra 3-6% discount each month through IID’s innovative eGreen program. This program brings renewable solar energy benefits to qualifying households without the need for on-site solar installation. The eGreen program is a key part of IID’s commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

In addition to these incredible savings, IID offers crucial assistance to REAP customers facing potential service disconnection due to nonpayment. Each quarter, you can receive:

  • 1st Quarter – January, February and March -$100
  • 2nd Quarter – April, May and June -$125
  • 3rd Quarter – July, August and September -$125
  • 4th Quarter – October, November and December -$100

If no other pledges have been requested and multiple past-due bills exist within the same quarter, one-time assistance of up to $450 is available for the third quarter billing (July, August, and September). For customers enrolled in Average Billing, which helps you manage your budget by spreading your energy costs evenly over the year – you can apply this assistance towards your settlement month as well, giving you even more financial relief.

A final notice is required to request assistance. Pledge funding cannot be used for reconnect fees, deposits, transfers, or to cover returned checks and related fees. Please note that pledge funding cannot cover reconnect fees, deposits, transfers, or charges related to returned checks. Before any pledge is approved, you will need to settle any outstanding balance.
