Imperial Valley College is accepting applications and nominations as the Imperial Valley Community College District Board of Trustees continues a nationwide search for the institution’s next superintendent/president, with a priority application deadline of Nov. 15.
The district is seeking an experienced administrator to lead the college’s academic programs, institutional development, and community partnerships while supporting student success and educational opportunities throughout Imperial County.
The search is being conducted in partnership with Academic Search, a national executive search firm specializing in higher education leadership recruitment.
According to the district, applications received by Nov. 15 will receive full consideration, although the position will remain open until filled. College officials anticipate appointing a new superintendent/president in early spring 2027.
As part of the recruitment process, the college is encouraging faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members, and educational partners to nominate individuals with the qualifications and leadership experience necessary to oversee the institution.
Nominations may be submitted confidentially to Academic Search at ImperialValleyCollege@academicsearch.org before the Nov. 15 priority deadline.
Submissions should include the nominee’s name, current professional title and institution, contact information, and a brief explanation of the individual’s qualifications for the position.
Academic Search will maintain the confidentiality of nominators and will not disclose their identities to prospective candidates.
The district has also made a position profile available outlining the responsibilities, leadership priorities, qualifications, and application procedures for the superintendent/president position.
Additional information about the recruitment process is available at https://www.academicsearch.org/ImperialValleyCollege.
The leadership search comes as Imperial Valley College continues to build on national recognition for its educational programs and student outcomes.
In 2023, the college was named a co-recipient of the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, a national award recognizing community colleges for student achievement and institutional performance.
The institution also received a 2025 Carnegie Opportunity College and University designation, recognizing its role in providing educational access and supporting economic opportunities for students.
The next superintendent/president will assume responsibility for overseeing the college’s operations, academic priorities, and long-term institutional planning as the district prepares for its next phase of leadership.
