An estimated 12% reduction in customer bills will be applied over the next four summer months, driven by 2025 cost savings.

IMPERIAL, CA. – Imperial Irrigation District (IID) electric customers will begin receiving summer bill credits on their monthly statements as part of a $48.4 million relief program aimed at helping offset electricity costs during the peak summer season.

The credits are expected to reduce customer electric bills by approximately 12% and will be automatically applied from July through October for energy used between June and September. No application or action is required from customers.

As temperatures climb across the Imperial and Coachella Valleys, the credits are intended to deliver meaningful relief during the period of highest energy demand.

“Providing affordable and reliable energy remains one of IID’s highest priorities,” said IID Board Chairwoman Karin Eugenio. “These bill credits deliver meaningful savings directly to our customers and reflect our commitment to returning value to the communities we serve.”

The program is funded through lower-than-expected fuel and purchased power costs in 2025, enabling the District to pass those savings directly to customers.

“This is about returning value to our customers while continuing to maintain the reliable electric service our communities depend on,” said IID General Manager Jamie Asbury.

The summer bill credits are part of IID’s ongoing efforts to keep rates affordable, ensure reliable electric service, and support customers across its service territory.
