Imperial Valley College’s Nursing and Allied Health Department will host a site visit from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) as part of the initial national accreditation review of the college’s Associate Degree of Science in Registered Nursing program. The review is a key step in evaluating the program’s quality, ensuring it meets national standards for nursing education.
The site visit is scheduled for March 24–26, 2026, at Imperial Valley College, 380 E. Aten Road, in Building 2100. During the visit, ACEN representatives will review the college’s nursing curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, clinical experiences, and other program elements to assess compliance with accreditation standards.
As part of the accreditation process, members of the public are invited to participate in a scheduled meeting with the site visit team. The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 2131 at Imperial Valley College. Community members and other interested parties are encouraged to attend. Parking will be available in campus lots H, I, J, and K. Current students and employees of Imperial Valley College will meet separately with the accreditation team and are not included in this public session.
In addition to attending the public meeting, individuals may submit written comments directly to ACEN. Written comments should be sent by mail to Accreditation Services, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326, or by email to public-comments@acenursing.org. All written comments must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The accreditation review is part of Imperial Valley College’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the quality of its nursing program. Officials say public participation in the process helps ensure transparency and contributes to continued excellence in nursing education.
