The Morena parliamentary group in Baja California’s XXV Legislature formally expressed its full support for Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. It condemned what it described as ongoing attempts to discredit her administration. Speaking from the legislative podium, Morena coordinator Juan Manuel Molina García emphasized that the governor has set a benchmark for effective governance in the state.

Molina García highlighted the administration’s achievements in reducing extreme poverty through initiatives such as the Violeta Card program, support for senior citizens, educational scholarships, school breakfast programs, and the Ilumina tu Día Card. He also noted the state government’s coordinated efforts with municipal, state, and federal authorities to address security challenges and maintain peace and public safety throughout Baja California.

The legislator characterized recent attacks and speculative reports targeting the governor as politically motivated campaigns aimed at undermining her leadership. He rejected accusations based on unverified sources, anonymous claims, and misleading narratives, calling the attacks an extension of the broader political opposition’s efforts to capitalize on public dissent.

Molina García also addressed the controversy surrounding visa revocations, stressing that the U.S. Department of State is responsible for providing clarifications, while Mexico has maintained full cooperation in bilateral efforts. He emphasized that reciprocity has been lacking in these interactions, placing the onus on U.S. authorities.

The coordinator recalled Governor Ávila Olmeda’s role as president of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO), where she led a unified response from all 32 state governors protesting statements by President Donald Trump, defending national sovereignty and the dignity of Mexican citizens.

Morena legislators reiterated that Governor Ávila Olmeda continues to enjoy the support of both the Morena parliamentary group and Fuerza por México, as well as hundreds of thousands of Baja Californians who recognize her accomplishments and commitment to public service. They pledged to continue advancing policies for the state’s benefit and affirmed that truth and justice will prevail over campaigns aimed at division and political sabotage.
