The Baja California government announced key dates for the Beca Rita Cetina, a federal program aimed at supporting basic education students and helping families with school expenses. The initiative is part of a broader strategy promoted by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to strengthen access to education and reduce economic barriers for families.
Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda said payments of 1,900 pesos per student were distributed Feb. 16–22, with an additional 700 pesos for families with more than one child enrolled in the program. The deposits were made directly to recipients in alphabetical order, following the program’s established schedule.
The governor also highlighted that informational assemblies have begun at schools throughout the state. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend these meetings, where program requirements and the registration process are explained in detail.
Registration for an annual 2,500-peso allowance for school uniforms and supplies will be open from March 2–19. Governor Avila emphasized that the program is designed to help reduce educational costs and support family finances while encouraging students to remain in school.
“The education of our children is at the heart of transformation,” Avila said. “We want all families to be informed and ensure that no child is left out of this program promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum.”
Officials urged families to stay alert for official announcements, participate in school assemblies, and register their children so that more students can benefit from the Beca Rita Cetina program. The initiative reflects the state and federal governments’ commitment to supporting educational continuity and improving access to resources for students across Baja California.
