
CETYS University President Recognized Among Mexico’s 300 Most Influential Leaders for the Seventh Time

Dr. Fernando León García, President of the CETYS University System, has been included in the 2026 edition of Mexico’s 300 Most Influential Leaders, marking the seventh time he has been recognized as one of the country’s most influential voices in the annual Líderes Mexicanos magazine ranking, which honors individuals from various sectors who contribute to Mexico’s development and transformation.
The distinction recognizes a career defined by advancing innovation in higher education, strengthening strategic partnerships, and positioning CETYS as the International University of Mexico. It also highlights his commitment to the holistic development of students, the advancement of cutting-edge educational models, and initiatives that contribute to the well-being of society.
With more than 15 years as President of the CETYS University System, Dr. León García currently serves as Chair of the Board of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and President of the Mexican Association of Private Universities (AMUP). In these roles, he has promoted an agenda focused on academic excellence, internationalization, and collaboration among higher education institutions. His work with national and international organizations has strengthened dialogue on the future of education and the role of universities in sustainable development.
The 2026 edition of Mexico’s 300 Most Influential Leaders features representatives from a wide range of fields, including academia, business, science, culture, sports, media, and public service, whose contributions are shaping the present and helping build the country’s future.
