About Beyond Borders
At Beyond Borders Gazette, we embrace the goal to establish a printed and e-Edition media in the MEX-US border region, that is available in both languages: English and Spanish. We aim to maintain the binational population informed through our monthly publication, in which we’ll be sharing the most relevant news and events that occur within the Mexico-USA territory in Baja California and California; while at the same time, allowing anyone to know and learn about bi-national culture.

Ellie Burgueno

CEO, Founder Ellie Burgueno
Ellie Burgueño is the CEO and Editorial Director of Beyond Borders Gazette and a radio host with over 15 years of experience covering the U.S.–Mexico border region. She founded Imperial Valley Insight and has earned multiple journalism honors, including three national awards in Mexico, two San Diego Press Club Excellence in Journalism awards, and recognition as California Senate Woman of the Year (2020). Her background includes studies in law and English–Spanish interpretation, a Strategic Business Management specialization at Harvard, and an MFA in Creative Writing from UC San Diego. She also serves in leadership roles within major journalism organizations and is the author of books focused on personal development, women’s financial empowerment, poetry and more.
