The Provino Baja California Committee has officially announced details for the 19th annual Fiesta de los Viñedos en Flor, a family-focused event that highlights community, sustainability, and support for vulnerable groups in the state’s wine valleys. The celebration will take place on Saturday, June 14, at Rancho San Gabriel in San Antonio de las Minas.
A long-standing tradition, the event aims to honor Baja California’s agricultural producers and promote environmental awareness while raising funds for local social impact projects. According to Provino President Wenceslao Martínez, the event reflects the organization’s broader mission of supporting community well-being alongside the promotion of wine culture. “We can’t promote wine culture in isolation from our community’s needs,” Martínez said. “This event helps us weave stronger social ties by supporting meaningful projects throughout the year.”
In 2023, the event funded a 600-square-meter concrete soccer field for the “Rancho de los Niños” orphanage, benefitting 80 children and youth in the area. In 2024, improvements were made to the CBTA #323 agricultural high school, including new furniture, computer equipment, a projector, basketball equipment, and upgrades to the civic plaza. This year’s proceeds will go toward improvements at the Ejido El Porvenir sports complex to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent school dropout and at-risk behaviors among local youth.
The Fiesta de los Viñedos en Flor includes two components: a free conference day open to the public and a ticketed outdoor family festival.
On Friday, June 13, Provino Baja California, in collaboration with the Berry Good Food Foundation, will host “Conferencias en Flor”, a conference series focused on sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. Themed “Earth Works: The Cultural Evolution of Agricultural Laborers”, the program will feature presentations, case studies, and a discussion panel with six national and international experts. An ecological fair will also take place, highlighting regional sustainability initiatives and nonprofit organizations. The event will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the CEVIT Auditorium, CETYS University Ensenada, and admission is free with prior registration.
This rural outdoor festival is designed for families, with children under 18 admitted for free. Activities include art workshops for children aged 3–12, kite flying, animal exhibits by Parque Ecológico Paipai, and a mini market and restaurant experience for kids aged 2–10.
Eighty Baja California wineries will participate, offering tastings of over 160 wine labels starting at noon. All wine is donated and sold at special prices, with proceeds directed to Provino’s philanthropic agenda.
A food court coordinated by chef Miguel Bahen will feature dishes made from local ingredients, prepared by guest chefs Alfredo Villanueva (Villa Torel), Carolina Verdugo (Madre), David Rocha (Comal), Edgard Romero (Terra Noble), Gaby Melchum (Hacienda Guadalupe), and Óscar Torres (Animalón). Traditional cuisine will also be featured, with contributions from the Kumiai and Kiliwa indigenous communities.
Additional attractions at the event will include a country market offering regional products such as honey, cheeses, and preserves; an ecological corridor featuring environmental initiatives; and a live art auction showcasing large-format works created on-site by guest artists, with interactive participation from children in attendance. The event will take place at Rancho San Gabriel in San Antonio de las Minas on Saturday, June 14, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Admission is MXN 950, which includes a wine glass and tastings while supplies last. Children under 18 enter free, and pets are not permitted.
The Fiesta de los Viñedos en Flor continues to serve as a key event in the Valle de Guadalupe wine region, blending celebration with social responsibility.
