Lady Gaga announces COVID-19 benefit concert that will have Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, Elton John and more to perform.
During the World Health Organization press briefing April 6, Lady Gaga announced the event that Global Citizen and the World Health Organization.
“It has been an honor to help with this huge broadcast event where we need to tell the stories of and celebrate the front-line community, health care workers and their acts of kindness,” Gaga said.
As the world unites to combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO) have announced the One World: Together at Home global special in support of the fight against COVID-19.
Entertainers from around the world will come together for a global televised special in support of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic on April 18. Proceeds would go toward funding protective equipment for health-care professionals. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert and feature characters from “Sesame Street” as well as a number of musical guests.
The special will be broadcast live starting at 8 pm ET on ABC, NBC, ViacomCBS Networks and iHeartMedia, as well as on Bell Media networks and platforms in Canada.
Internationally, BBC One will run the program on Sunday, April 19, with additional international broadcasters including beIN Media Group, MultiChoice Group, and RTE.
The virtual broadcast will show unity among all people who are affected by COVID-19, as well as celebrating and supporting the brave frontline health care workers around the world who are doing incredible, life-saving work.
