The Comité Provino Baja California announced the agenda of activities for the thirty-fourth edition of the Valle de Guadalupe Wine Festival at a press conference. These festivities, which have become an icon of Baja California, will take place from July 31 to August 24, extending a week longer than usual. During this period, the public can enjoy more than 30 activities, including large-scale events, pairing dinners, meals, enological tours, and special tastings.
These traditional festivities aim to attract national and international tourists, boost the local economy, support wine producers, and position Baja California as the main destination for wine tourism and gastronomy in Mexico. An influx of 120,000 visitors and an economic impact of over 800 million pesos is expected. “The seven wine-producing valleys of Baja California account for 70% of the total wine production at the national level, including the renowned Valle de Guadalupe,” highlighted José de Jesús Quiñonez, Undersecretary of Tourism of Baja California.
This year, under the theme of “Sustainable Agriculture,” Wenceslao Martínez Payán, President of Provino, emphasized the organization’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices in all the wine-producing areas of Baja California. The agenda is divided into three segments: Events (large-scale activities combining wine, gastronomy, and music), Experiences (meals and pairing dinners), and Learning (enological tours, master classes, tastings, and wine workshops).
The Comité Provino Baja California will hold iconic events such as the Salón del Vino, the Muestra del Vino, and the Concurso de Paellas “Dr. Ramón García Ocejo.” These events will feature the participation of its 84 affiliated wineries.
The Salón del Vino, exclusive to wine professionals, will take place on Wednesday, July 31, at the Hotel Coral & Marina. The Muestra del Vino, considered the epicenter of Mexican wine culture, will be held on Friday, August 2, at the Centro Cultural Riviera de Ensenada. Finally, the Concurso de Paellas, a countryside and family event, will take place on Sunday, August 18, at the Viña de Liceaga winery.
Additionally, guided enological tours to various wineries will be held every weekend during the festivities.
“The upcoming harvest is the reason for this great celebration, as it promises to be an excellent season for grapes. We invite you to celebrate a cycle of the vine together and enjoy the great selection of wines we have in Baja California. We look forward to seeing you,” concluded Martínez Payán.
