The Tourism and Conventions Committee (COTUCO) of Playas de Rosarito revealed the tourism event calendar for September to December 2024 during a press conference. These events include various sports, cultural, and gastronomic activities.
César Rivera González, President of COTUCO Playas de Rosarito, emphasized that the tourism event calendar contributes significantly to increasing visitor traffic and positioning Baja California as a tourist destination in both national and international markets. This highlights the importance of continuing to support the promoters of these events.
“Beyond the summer season, Playas de Rosarito offers a wide range of attractions, inviting visitors year-round. From sports, cultural, and gastronomic events to activities such as ecotourism, camping, glamping, hiking, kayaking, surfing, and extreme sports like rappelling and paragliding. We are announcing these events to encourage regional residents to plan their next visit and stay in Playas de Rosarito,” said Rivera González.
Acting Director of COTUCO Playas de Rosarito, Silvia Dagnino Montaño, presented the event calendar, starting with the 1st Bartender Festival on Sunday, September 22, at Hacienda Kilometer 43 restaurant, benefiting “Baja Angels of the Sea.” The event will feature beverage tastings, paella, and live music.
On Saturday, September 28, the traditional Rosarito-Ensenada Bike Ride will take place again, celebrating its 45th anniversary. The 50-mile fun ride is expected to attract around 4,000 cyclists from various Baja California municipalities and Southern California.
The next day, Sunday, September 29, the “Café en el Mar 2024” festival will be held, now in its fourth edition. The event will feature specialty coffee shops, live music, food and beverage sales, desserts, art, and much more at the gardens of the Rosarito Beach Hotel.
The “Bandcamp Rosarito 2024” festival will take place on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, at “El Palmar Paradise,” featuring nearly 20 bands, benefiting the “Feeding Rosarito” association. Meanwhile, from October 24 to 26, Playas de Rosarito will host the 5th Northwest Regional Congress and the 3rd Binational Family Medicine Conference 2024.
Additionally, on Sunday, November 10, the Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon will take place, now with an internationally certified route by World Athletics. On Saturday, November 16, “Los Fabulosos Cadillacs” will perform at the Baja Center as part of their 2024 Mexico tour.
Finally, César Rivera González highlighted that, as in previous years, December will feature various promotions and offers at accommodation establishments for Christmas vacations and year-end celebrations.
The press conference for the 2024 year-end tourism event calendar also included the participation of Councilwoman Norma Fernanda Montoya Agramont, from the Tourism and Economic Development Commission of the IX City Council of Playas de Rosarito; Adilene Urias, promoter of Café en el Mar, and Josefina Sánchez, a traditional cook from Playas de Rosarito, among other event promoters.
