The Association of Public Relations Professionals of Baja California has officially inaugurated its new Board of Directors for the 2025-2027 term in a ceremony attended by over 150 guests, including government officials, tourism sector representatives, media professionals, and industry members. The new board will be led by Dr. Enrique Chiu, an internationally recognized artist and cultural promoter, who assumes the presidency with a vision of innovation and expansion for the institution.
Who is Dr. Enrique Chiu?
Dr. Enrique Chiu is a distinguished visual artist and cultural promoter with international acclaim. His work has been exhibited in multiple countries, and he is renowned for leading community art projects that drive social transformation through creativity. His most iconic initiative, The Mural of Brotherhood, is considered the largest collaborative art project on a border wall in the world. With an extensive background in cultural management, Chiu takes on the presidency of the College with the goal of advancing the professionalization and growth of the public relations community in Baja California.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the City Express Plus Hotel in Tijuana, where the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Baja California, Lic. Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez, officiated the oath of office for the new Board of Directors. In his speech, he emphasized the crucial role of strategic communication in positioning Baja California as a key destination for tourism and business. Additionally, the president of COTUCO Tijuana, Karim Chalita Rodríguez, highlighted the essential role public relations professionals play in promoting the state’s image nationally and internationally.
Federal Congresswoman Evelyn Sánchez also expressed her commitment to supporting the College, stating that she will work alongside the new leadership to strengthen the communication and public relations sector in Baja California.

Lastly, social commitment will play a crucial role by implementing purpose-driven communication strategies, supporting philanthropic initiatives, and contributing to regional social responsibility projects.
