Soroptimist International (SI) of El Centro is set to host its 85th annual board installation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, at The Loft in El Centro. This time-honored tradition celebrates the achievements and contributions of its members and sponsors. This year, the event marks the club’s 85th anniversary and will welcome 40 new members to its esteemed ranks with a vibrant Havana Nights themed celebration.
“Our club has seen tremendous success this year, and I am honored to celebrate our members’ commitment to our mission,” said Ivonne Sotomayor Santos, President of SI of El Centro. “This event is not only a celebration of our achievements but also a reminder of the collective impact we can make together. We look forward to setting the stage for future accomplishments.”
The sold-out event will also feature the installation of the new Board, which includes newly elected Co-President Jessie Villanueva.
Soroptimist International of El Centro was chartered on February 17, 1940. Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Local members join some 75,000 Soroptimists in 122 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women and girls.
