Secture Promotes Cross-Border Tourism with ‘Explore Baja’ Program

-Editorial

The Baja California Tourism Secretary, through its Marketing Department, invites tourism-related businesses to join the new ‘Explore Baja’ program, an initiative offering exclusive promotions and discounts to California residents. This program aims to boost cross-border tourism and strengthen the regional economy.

According to the 2022-2023 Baja California Visitor Profile, 83.2% of U.S. tourists are California residents, making California the top source of visitors for Baja California.

To participate, businesses must be registered in the National Tourism Registry (RNT) or complete registration before formalizing their involvement. Additionally, service providers must have a positive record with the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).

Meeting these requirements allows businesses to access program benefits, including free promotion in the California market.
