The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated cross-border collaboration and regional prosperity at the 2024 International Tribute Awards. The event honored three individuals and organizations from San Diego and Baja California who have played a pivotal role in strengthening binational relations and fostering economic growth in the Cali-Baja region.
Jerry Sanders, CEO and President of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of cross-border partnerships in his remarks. “The Chamber is proud to celebrate the vital role of international collaboration in driving progress and prosperity in our region,” Sanders said. “Our honorees’ unwavering commitment to the Cali-Baja region has turned challenges into opportunities. Their contributions transcend borders, reflecting the spirit of innovation and partnership that defines our vibrant binational community.”
The 2024 International Tribute Awards honored three outstanding recipients for their exceptional contributions to the region’s international relations and global competitiveness: Salvador Lopez, Chief Environmental Officer at NADBank, was named International Leader of the Year; the International Organization of the Year award went to the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance; and Jewish Family Service was recognized as the Cross-Border Hero for its work supporting migrant communities.
These honorees were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the region’s international relations and global competitiveness. Salvador Lopez was praised for his leadership in advancing sustainable environmental initiatives, while the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance was commended for its conservation efforts that span international borders. Jewish Family Service was recognized for its support of migrant communities and cross-border humanitarian work.
The International Tribute Awards, a signature event for the Chamber, highlights the essential role of cross-border collaboration in addressing shared challenges and opportunities.
