Provino Makes Changes to Their Wine Harvest Festivities Calendar

Faced with the threat of a new COVID outbreak, as well as in support of measures established by the Baja California Health Secretariat about massive events and, above all, being responsible for the safety of their visitors, staff, and, in general, the organizers of the annual event decided to modify what was previously announced about Harvest Festivities 2021. The calendar of activities will be as follows:

July 29 to August 31: Downtown Festival

Organized by Bodegas de Santo Tomás, different venues, and schedules.

July 31: 30th Anniversary Gala

Tasting of high-end wines, 6-course dinner, and tribute to the founding wineries of Provino. Limited to 200 people. La Isla, Hotel Coral & Marina, $3,500 MN, 6:00 p.m.

Friday, August 6: Wine Show:

The event will have a significant reduction in capacity (500 tickets) and the entire scheme is reconfigured (participation, areas, assembly, and artistic-cultural programming). Plaza Santo Tomás, $1,200 MN, 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 7:

“Celebrating the Harvest” Pairing dinner and live music at Vinos Melchum/Hacienda Guadalupe, $2,500 MN, 6:30 p.m.

“Harmonic encounter” Eno-gastronomic experience, 5 dishes, 5 wines at Shedeh Winery.

 August 13, August:

“5-course pairing dinner” at Bodegas F. Rubio, $2,200 MN, 5:00 p.m.

“6th pairing dinner anniversary-Guest chefs: Alex Ruiz (Casa Oaxaca) and Xavier Pérez (Achiote) at Corona del Valle winery, $2,500 MN, 5:00 p.m.

“Rice and wines” Madera 5 and Las Nubes Vineyard. Chefs: Javiers Plascencia, Alfredo Villanueva, Antonio De Livier, Atzin Santos, Juan Emilio Villaseñor, and Moumen Nori at Finca Altozano Restaurant, $120.00 dlls, 6:00 p.m.

“10 laps in the sun” Dinner among vineyards by Edgar Nuñez and Sheyla Alvarado at Finca La Carrodilla wine country, $3,000 MN, 6:00 p.m.

“The origin of the Nazar” 6-course dinner with pairing, guest chef Víctor García (Malva) at Almatierra Restaurant, $1,350 MN, 6:30 p.m.

 Saturday, August 14:

“Brunch among olive trees”. In charge of Chef Adria Montaño at Finca La Carrodilla winery, by invitation.

“Casta lives at night” Dinner and live music tribute to the 80s at the Casta de Vinos winery, $2,800 MN, 7:00 p.m.

Friday, August 20:

“The singularity of Lunario” Dinner pairing presentation of Singular 2015 at Vinícola Lomita, $3,000 MN, 6:00 p.m.

“Dinner pairing with unpublished wines”.  at Las Nubes Vineyard, $2,850 MN, 6:00 p.m.

Paella Contest:

Event postponed until the harvest season (November), allowing the current outbreak of COVID to be controlled and that more population groups have their complete vaccination/certificate, which is requested by the Ministry of Health in events greater than 500 people.

Saturday, August 28:

“Let’s celebrate life.”  Food pairing at Hilo Negro winery, $2,500 MN, 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 18:

“Grills + Wine”. At Kiosko, Rancho San Gabriel, $600.00 MN, children under 12 years old free entry, noon.
