-Editorial

Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, an Affiliate of Scripps Health is honored to receive this year’s Best Hospital award for the second year in a row from the readers of the Imperial Valley Press!

The year has started off to be an exciting one, and Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District started 2018 with their groundbreaking of the Imperial Valley’s First ever Cardiac Cath Lab and Surgery Expansion to better improve patient care here at Pioneers.  The expansion will assist in procedures to help treat and cure cancer, brain tumors procedures, angioplasty, and stenting.

Following the groundbreaking in Brawley, Pioneers Memorial continued its successes by announcing the exciting construction and expansion of the PIONEERS Calexico Health Center which will increase the exams from 13 to 30 while creating four distinct areas of the clinic; Primary care, Urgent Care, Women’s Health and Pediatrics.

In April 2018, due to the overwhelming demand for more pediatric services in the area—the PIONEERS Children Health Center opened as their newest regional clinic. The clinic is located in Downtown Brawley and will give families better access to more pediatricians, clinicians and children’s health services to the region.

Pioneers Memorial Healthcare continues leading the way in Women’s Health! If you’re a woman, over 40, or have a family history of breast cancer, getting a mammogram is your smartest choice.  PIONEERS MEMORIAL is the only hospital to offer 3D MAMMOGRAMS in the area and the acquisition of the latest 3D mammography exams is a testament to PIONEERS’ commitment to patients. The Pioneers Team is proud to champion breast cancer awareness and early detection as 3D Mammography exams are clinically proven to detect 20-65% more invasive breast cancers than conventional mammography alone.

Pioneers Memorial Hospital is a highly recognized 107-bed acute care facility accredited by DNV, committed to providing state-of-the-art healthcare, and complemented by the highest quality of community education. DNV, which stands for Det Norske Veritas – the Nordic Truth, is a hospital accreditation organization approved by the U. S.
