Pioneers Memorial Breaks Ground on Surgery Expansion Project

Pioneers Memorial Hospital District celebrated along with dignitaries and business people from all over the Imperial Valley the groundbreaking of the surgery expansion that will raise the bar of medical services in the Imperial Valley.

In a special ceremony held on Friday, February 2nd, at the front lawn of Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California, the Pioneers Board of Directors, administration, members of the City Council celebrated the beginning of an ambitious project that will soon help Imperial Valley residents.

The project has been on the works for quite some time with the goal and vision of expanding services at the hospital and give Valley residents quality surgery. For this reason, Pioneers invested $6.5 million in construction and equipment for this expansion project.

This will bring an additional 3,100 square feet single story unit to existing hospital surgery department. The expansion includes one Neuro-surgery, one Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology suites.

The vast majority of brain tumors can be safely treated here.  This helps families as the hospital stay for these conditions can be a few days or more.

The services provided include treatment of: brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, spine, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal cord stimulators, trauma, carpal tunnel syndrome.

It will include specialized support areas that will bring better care in Imperial County. It will bring to the Valley Surgical services not yet provided in the area.
