PFIZER SECOND DOSE COVID VACCINATION ADVANCES IN BAJA CALIFORNIA

In Baja California, Pfizer’s second dose vaccination against Covid is advancing, once more than 25 thousand doses have arrived in the territory to complete schedules, reported the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Oscar Pérez Rico.

He reported that last Friday they applied 8 thousand 59 vaccines and that of those 7 thousand 698 were from Pfizer, the rest AstraZeneca and Sinovac, also second doses.

The Secretary of Health estimates that 8 thousand more doses will be applied during this intense weekend, which would give approximately 16 thousand vaccines applied.

Both the Governor and the secretary of Health, insisted on the importance of people coming to apply their biological to prevent the vaccines from being withdrawn by the Federal Government and transferred to another federal entity.

This Saturday, the Ministry of Health has enabled the Government Center (Imos) in Tijuana, which works as a fixed point, and in the pedestrian mode, additionally, in Mexicali, there is Plaza Cachanilla, also in the pedestrian mode.

“If your second dose of Pfizer is pending, go to the Tijuana Government Center, with just over 40 vaccinators ready,” said Pérez Rico.

On the other hand, he said that the State will continue in yellow at the epidemiological traffic light and that inactive cases “the curve is stabilizing to begin the decline.”

INCIDENTS AND COVID FIGURES IN BC

Currently, the Covid hospital occupancy in Baja California is 45.59%, with 233 beds available, 195 ventilators available, 184 hospitalized patients (confirmed by the laboratory), and an effective reproduction rate of 1.15.

Regarding the figures of people infected by COVID-19 in our entity, the SISVER (national) platform reports at the cutoff of midnight on September 3, that 152 thousand 464 cases have been studied, of which 57 thousand 367 were positive.

In Tijuana, there are 20,994 patients;  21,981 in the city of Mexicali; Ensenada 8,215;  Rosarito 1,359; Tecate with 1,825;  in San Quintín/Vicente Guerrero 2,238 and San Felipe 755.

Regarding deaths from coronavirus, they report accumulated 9,019. Tijuana with 4,122, Mexicali 3,314;  Ensenada 1,212;  Tecate 198;  Rosarito 31;  San Quintín / Vicente Guerrero with 132 and San Felipe 10 deaths.

Baja California decreased its active cases, 1,189 in total, divided as follows: Mexicali: 477, Tijuana: 381, Ensenada: 177, San Quintín: 51, Playas de Rosarito: 39, Tecate: 61, and San Felipe: 3.
