Paris+ par Art Basel Unveils Impressive Line-Up of 154 Premier Galleries for Second Edition

Paris+ par Art Basel has announced the participation of 154 leading galleries in its highly anticipated second edition. Exhibitors from 33 countries and territories, including 58 with exhibition spaces in France, will showcase captivating solo, duo, and group presentations featuring works by French and international artists, spanning from 20th-century masters to emerging talents. The event will take place at the Grand Palais Éphémère from October 20–22, 2023. Among the participants, 138 galleries that were part of last year’s show will be returning. In the fair’s main sector, Galeries, some notable participants include:

• Galerie 1900-2000 (Paris) featuring a curated display of works by historical representatives of Surrealism. • Applicat-Prazan (Paris) presenting a solo booth showcasing rare works by French modernist painter Jean Hélion. • A Gentil Carioca (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo) offering a compelling duo presentation of works by Brazilian Indigenous artist Denilson Baniwa and Afro-Brazilian painter Arjan Martins. • Andrew Edlin Gallery (New York) fostering a dialogue between historic and contemporary outsider artists, including Paulina Peavy and Karla Knight. • Selma Feriani Gallery (Tunis, London) curating a selection of works by artists from the MENA region. • A joint booth by LambdaLambdaLambda (Pristina) and Hannah Hoffman (Los Angeles), featuring works by Nora Turato, Dominique Knowles, Hana Miletić, and other talented artists. • Pace Gallery (New York, Geneva, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Seoul) presenting a captivating dialogue between historic and contemporary works by artists from the gallery’s renowned roster, including Jean Dubuffet, Torkwase Dyson, Loie Hollowell, and Agnes Martin. • Tornabuoni Art (Paris, Florence, Milan, Forte dei Marmi, Crans Montana, Rome) showcasing a group presentation highlighting Postwar Italian masters.

Vincenzo de Bellis, Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, emphasized the unwavering commitment to high-quality exhibitors across all Art Basel shows, and the second edition of Paris+ par Art Basel is no exception. He expressed excitement about staging an exhilarating fair in Paris, eagerly welcoming local and international audiences, partners, and the 154 selected galleries at the magnificent Grand Palais Éphémère this October. Furthermore, he highlighted the participation of three galleries with uncompromising programming, marking their first-time involvement in an Art Basel fair, reflecting the organization’s dedication to broadening the range of perspectives showcased at their events.

In addition to the art fair, Paris+ par Art Basel will collaborate with Parisian cultural institutions and the city itself to present an expanded, citywide public program and a Conversations program. These public activations will include a diverse range of events and activities that will unfold in some of the most iconic venues throughout the city of Paris. The aim is to engage and involve the public in a dynamic and immersive artistic experience.

The expanded, citywide public program will offer a series of exhibitions, installations, performances, and interactive experiences that will be accessible to all visitors. It will provide an opportunity for art enthusiasts, locals, and tourists alike to engage with contemporary art and discover new perspectives.

Additionally, the Conversations program will feature thought-provoking discussions, panel talks, and interviews with artists, curators, and industry experts.
