-Editorial

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Calexico is pleased to announce it will be serving the business communities of Calexico and Imperial Valley. Sitting in the region’s most prominent business corridor, the new chamber will support a cross-border alliance while encouraging an increase in international trade.

The Chamber is built on industry principles of being a Convener of leaders, a Catalyst for business growth, and a Champion for our community. This leading 3C approach enables The Chamber to bring our community leaders together with a focus on delivering viable solutions to the economic crisis in Calexico while empowering the Chamber to seek solutions to business retention and growth.

“As a champion for our business community, we look forward to bringing awareness and resolution to border issues. This new chamber is committed to listening to the business community, understanding their needs, and delivering viable solutions. We support the economic efforts our City continues to undertake and look forward to working closely with our business and economic development partners,” said Katie B. Luna.

The new board of directors consists of Katie B. Luna as President, Gil Acuna as Secretary, Daniel Romero as Treasurer, Ben Horton, and Louie Wong as members at large. The board continues to develop the model of the Chamber for the future and looks forward to recruiting members soon.
