In a ceremony highlighting civic pride and support for professional sports, Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz officially presented the 2025 season uniform to the Toros de Tijuana baseball team as they prepare for the upcoming Mexican Baseball League (LMB) season.
Addressing players, coaching staff, and team executives, Mayor Burgueño emphasized the team’s importance to the local community and urged them to represent Tijuana with passion, respect, and determination as they compete across 19 major cities in Mexico. “You are not just representing a team—you are representing a brave, dynamic, and hard-working city,” he stated.
The mayor also noted the strong bond between the team and the city, describing the Toros as a symbol of family unity, effort, and regional pride.
Before the ceremony, Mayor Burgueño, joined by Club President Blanca Uribe Díaz and Executive President Omar Carrizales, inaugurated a new gym facility for the players’ physical training throughout the season.
Team manager Óscar Robles expressed gratitude for the city’s support: “This is an honor for us. We proudly accept this responsibility and will strive to uphold Tijuana’s name in every game.”
The ceremony reaffirms the Tijuana City Government’s commitment to promoting sports as a tool for social cohesion and community development, the press release stated.
