After over a decade of honoring emblematic and inspiring figures from the binational region, Mujer Actual magazine will hold its “14th Mujer Actual Forum” on October 8 at the event hall of Vía Corporativo.
During a press conference, Saida Muriel Hid, founder and director of Mujer Actual magazine, stated that the theme of this edition is titled “Latitude North: Leaders of the Tijuana-San Diego Megaregion,” as these two border cities represent a great cultural, economic, and social wealth.
“This forum commemorates the role of the leaders and protagonists who have contributed to the prosperous development of this region, providing a space to reflect and discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by Tijuana and San Diego,” she noted.
This 14th edition will feature the participation of 33 experts and leaders from different sectors, who will share their experiences and knowledge on topics of interest through a series of panels and discussions.
Saida Muriel detailed that there will be 12 continuous hours of activities, including the panel “Consular Bridges: From Border Dialogue” by Alicia Kerber-Palma, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, and Kurt Honold Morales, Baja California’s Secretary of Economy and Innovation.
Additionally, “Building the Tijuana-San Diego Megaregion” will be presented by Alejandra Mier y Terán, Executive Director of the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce; Kenia Zamarripa, Vice President of International Public Affairs for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce; and Carlos Jaramillo Silva, President of CCE Tijuana.
There will also be a discussion titled “Compliance in Society 5.0” by Sandra Maldonado, Director of APCE; and the panel “Cross-Border Art and Culture” by Alma Delia Ábrego, Baja California’s Secretary of Culture; Linda Caballero Sotelo, General Director and Chief Curator of the New Americans Museum & Immigration Learning Center; and architect Luis Lutteroth, Director of Tijuana City Hall’s Executive Committee for WDC, among others.
It is worth mentioning that during the Mujer Actual Forum, the “Entrepreneurial Woman Award” will be presented, recognizing 21 female leaders from the Tijuana-San Diego region who have inspired others through their work.
The founder and director of Mujer Actual added that there will also be tributes to figures such as Alejandro Bustamante, President of Plantronics Mexico; Irma Olachea, a Political Science graduate; Denisse Valle Bibb, Director of Valle Bibb Foundation; Guadalupe Rivemar, cultural journalist; and Maribel Moreno from M&M Public Relations, among others.
To conclude, Saida Muriel highlighted that the forum will close with a special performance by the Tijuana Youth Symphony Orchestra.
The press conference was attended by businessmen Jorge Ojeda and Antonio Cano, visual artist Alejandra Phelps, Talita Kumi Civil Association President Laura Franco, and the director of the Tijuana Youth Symphony, Jorge Soto.
