Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 will host the largest iteration yet of the Art Basel Shop, a curated concept store celebrating Modern and contemporary art. The event, running from December 4-8 at the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC), will feature over 2,000 square feet of space dedicated to bespoke products and collectibles. This marks the third and most ambitious edition of the shop, following successful debuts in Basel and Paris earlier this year.
The Art Basel Shop, accessible to the public without a ticket, will showcase exclusive products from Art Basel’s AB by Art Basel and AB by Artist lines, including new Miami Beach-themed items. A highlight is the collaboration with Brazilian artist Paulo Nimer Pjota, who has created a capsule collection featuring tie-dye T-shirts, hats, and notebooks adorned with mystical motifs. Pjota will be signing his products on December 5 at the shop’s Grand Ballroom location.
Additionally, the shop will debut the AB by Art Basel Heritage line, which incorporates a playful variation of the Art Basel logo from its 1994 catalog. This collection includes pink and mint green tote bags, a beach towel, playing cards, and even a windshield sunshade, capturing Miami Beach’s festive spirit.
Curated by Parisian creative visionary Sarah Andelman, the shop’s offerings also include artist-designed items such as hand-painted Christmas ornaments, artist-edition sunglasses, and limited-edition posters by Tyler Hobbs. Visitors can also explore a curated selection of publications, monographs, and zines featuring renowned artists like KAWS, Peter Halley, and Calida Rawles.
In addition to shopping, visitors can participate in a robust program of book signings, artist meet-and-greets, and activations. Details of these events will be available on Art Basel’s website.
The shop’s custom furniture, provided by Swiss heritage brand USM, will enhance the visual and functional appeal of the space. The Art Basel Shop’s three distinct locations within the MBCC – the West Lobby, Grand Ballroom, and East Lobby – ensure greater visibility and integration with the overall Art Basel Miami Beach experience.
Founded in 1970, Art Basel is the premier global platform for Modern and contemporary art, hosting fairs in Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong, and Paris. Its Miami Beach edition highlights the unique cultural vibrancy of its host city, blending regional and international art in collaboration with local institutions.
VIP Days for Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 will take place on December 4-5, accessible by invitation only, while Public Days are scheduled from December 6-8 and require a ticket for entry. During the event, Miami Beach will offer complimentary water taxi and shuttle services to and from the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) and the Miami Design District, ensuring convenient access for attendees.
