INFLUENZA VACCINE APPLICATION KICKS OFF IN BAJA CALIFORNIA

  • The goal is 959,255 doses in the Health Sector starting today, October 1.

MEXICALI, B.C.- In order to protect the health of citizens, the State Health Secretary, reported that as of October 1 of this year, the application of the influenza vaccine in the entity begins.

The head of the agency, Alonso Óscar Pérez Rico, pointed out that there is a total goal of 959 thousand 255 doses of this biological in the Health Sector, of which 471 thousand 599 are from ISESALUD, 436 thousand 448 to Ordinary IMSS, 11 thousand 401 to IMSS Bienestar and 39 thousand 807 to ISSSTE.

He indicated that of the 471 thousand 599 doses that correspond to ISESALUD in all its 4 jurisdictions, 138 thousand 226 from the Jurisdiction of Mexicali (its Valley and San Felipe), 262 thousand 398 from the Jurisdiction of Tijuana (which includes Playas de Rosarito and Tecate ), 46 thousand 783 from Ensenada and 24 thousand 192 doses of Vicente Guerrero.

He explained that the risk groups that will be applied this vaccine are children under 5 years of age, adults over 60 years of age, pregnant women, people with immunosuppression problems (Diabetes mellitus, HIV, Cancer, kidney failure, transplants, use of steroids or agents biological) or with respiratory diseases such as tuberculosis, asthma, pulmonary arterial hypertension.

It should be noted that the influenza vaccine will be applied at all health centers, hospitals, and clinics in the health sector, which is why a call is made to the population to come for the application of this biological.

Pérez Rico mentioned that it is important that vulnerable groups apply the biological, to reduce health risks.
