Index Mexicali 2017 Forum with record attendance

Index Mexicali held its grand event “Forum on Productivity and Development of Talent, Competitiveness and Business Development”, held in its fourth edition, which had national and international speakers, as well as an area of ​​exhibitors and a panel of experts with record attendance.

The forum was held with the objective of promoting the development of human capital in terms of competitiveness and talent that positively impact the economic development of the region and strengthens the relationships of local companies with suppliers.

In the opening ceremony, the president of Index Mexicali, Salvador Maese Barraza, had the honor of having the participation of the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Juana Laura Pérez Floriano; Gustavo Sánchez Vásquez, Mayor of the XXII City of Mexicali government; Miguel Lepe Bravo, delegate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baja California; Colonel Eduardo Villegas Velázquez, Commander of the 23rd Motorized Cavalry Regiment of Mexicali; Jacobo Noé Corona Bolaños Cacho, Administrator of Services to the Taxpayer of the local SAT and Federico Serrano, president of National Index.

Pérez Floriano said that the economy of this state has stood out because of business participation, especially the maquiladora industry and export manufacturing. He said that IMMEX companies in Baja California represent the largest number of economic units, with 938 representing 18.5 percent of the total in Mexico.

For his part, Salvador Maese, stressed that in terms of the development of talent there should be considered the company or organization and the people. “Starting with people: multifunctional employees; avoiding relying on technology and handling more than one language.”

For the second part, he stated that at the level of employers, the leaders of the organization have to make and implement strategies related to their human resources in order to be competitive and be as productive as possible and set goals and objectives for quality.

On the other hand, the Mexicali Mayor welcomed the participants and recalled that there are 120 companies in the city offering 70,000 direct jobs and more than 210,000 indirect jobs and that his government has a great commitment to support this sector.

During the event a minute of silence was kept for all the victims and people affected by the earthquakes that have ravaged the state of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Morelos, Puebla and Mexico City, and solidarity support was reiterated to the victims.

It should be noted that the Denise Dresser conference was not carried out because of the unfortunate earthquake that occurred on September 19, however, Maese Barraza, Luis Solis, director of the Committee on Linkage and Development of Talent and Federico Serrano announced that both for compliance of contract and investment of each one of the attendees the conference will be rescheduled in the month of November, for which soon the exact date will be announced, so all attendees are asked to save their card which will be the access pass to see the Denise Dresser conference in November.
