The Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) would like to announce the implementation of a Free Fares Program for various Imperial Valley Transit (IVT) services. Eligible services include IVT Fixed Route, IVT Circulators (Blue, Green and Gold Lines), IVT ACCESS, and IVT RIDE (EL Centro, Imperial, Heber, Brawley, Calexico, Westshore’s).
All passengers are eligible to benefit from the Free Fares Program. The Free Fares Program began Friday, August 7, 2020, and remain in effect until further notice.
All regular service eligibility requirements and restrictions will remain in effect.
The COVID‐19 pandemic has adversely impacted families throughout Imperial County. The Free Fares Program is an opportunity to assist all of the residents in the Imperial Valley during this difficult time.
“All of IVT affiliated services remain committed to providing a safe and healthy passenger experience during the COVID‐19 Pandemic and beyond. IVT and affiliated services have implemented enhanced cleaning and distancing protocols on all buses to help ensure the safe utilization of our transit systems.
We are all in this together and thank you for continuing to ride with us,” the press release said.
