In its ongoing commitment to providing financial relief and promoting energy efficiency, IID is launching the Easy Appliance Savings Year-round(EASY) Program.
The EASY Program is designed to help families improve their energy efficiency, reduce expenses, and contribute to the economic well-being of the community and environmental health.
“We are excited to introduce our new EASY Program, which is a key part of our commitment to fostering sustainable living and economic prosperity for our customers,” said IID Board Chairwoman Gina Dockstader. “We invite our customers to collaborate with us toward a more sustainable future, beginning with simple yet impactful changes at home.”
Customers enrolled in IID’s rate assistance programs READY, EASE, and CARE can exchange their old refrigerator for a brand-new, high-efficiency model for free. The existing refrigerator must be in working condition (cooling must function) and be over five years old. (The program excludes customers who are only on the Budget Billing Program).
Acquiring a high-efficiency refrigerator means that customers will save money through reduced power consumption year-round while also helping mitigate environmental impacts.
“Upgrading to an energy-efficient model reduces electricity bills and carbon emissions, contributing to energy conservation and environmental protection. And best of all, there is no cost for participants,” Dockstader added.
The new EASY Program will officially launch at IID’s Earth Day celebration event on Saturday, April 12, where attendees will have the first chance to enroll. After the launch event, enrollments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Customers interested in participating in the EASY Program and learning more about IID’s energy efficiency initiatives are encouraged to attend the Earth Day launch event or visit www.iid.com/easy on or after April 12.
